FAQ:
- I’m new to yoga. Will this course be too advanced for me? Not at all! The course will offer advanced practices of yoga, such as breathwork and meditation. So it will be new and different. However, none of the postures are advanced. We’ll take the pace slow and explore together.
- I am already under care of a psychologist or psychiatrist. How will this course help me differently? Align Yoga Therapy does not diagnose, treat or cure emotional or physical pain. What it does do is provide D.I.Y. tools to help relieve suffering. Yoga Therapy is an excellent adjunct wellness plan to conventional medicine.
- How much time will this program take me? How much do I have to put in on a weekly basis? I don't want this to program to add more stress to your life, which is why I've designed this course to be completed in doses that work for you. There is not a specific amount of time you need to spend on a weekly basis. The entire program has about 12-14 hours of content, which is divided into manageable chunks of time (5-60mins practices) to do daily or weekly.
- I’ve been doing yoga for years. Will this program be too basic for me? Studio yoga classes can be excellent for helping manage anxiety, but they are often focused on the physical aspect of yoga (asana) and can often have adverse effects for mental imbalances. With Align’s Courses you can be assured that the yoga practices are specifically for mental wellness. In this course you will find a range of modalities of yoga that may be physically challenging to some and fairly easy for others. We will move and practice stillness. You may find that the most challenging part is learning to be still in a posture.
- What if I miss a session? Will the calls be recorded? No problem, I understand that everyone's schedule is different which is why the entire program is do-at-your-own-pace. The only live sessions are the Open Group Mentoring calls, which will also be recorded and uploaded into your program library.
- What happens after the program ends? Will I have access to it? You will receive recordings of each Wellness Workshop so you can continue to practice on your own.
- I am a yoga teacher. Can I use this course for YA CEC's? Yes, you can! During COVID, Yoga Alliance has made a provisional exception that all virtual trainings can count toward contact hours.
